Honda CRV Denver Wheel & Tire Options | Kuni Honda in Centennial

One of the greatest things about the Honda CRV Denver is that it is relatively affordable by most families and accomplishes the goals and tasks of an everyday driving vehicle. It is also more capable of performing in harsher conditions due to its utility design. It performs well in the city because it is relatively compact and its class is technically a compact crossover SUV which has been built based on the design of most of Honda’s compact cars and it is small enough to squeeze through the density of an urbanized area. The vehicle is, however, a bit stronger than many compact cars so it may perform the weather and traveling tasks that many compacts should not. The most enjoyed and utilized aspect of the CRV for sports people and the outdoorsman is the all-wheel drive capability on many of the trim models. All-wheel drive is something that is not found among Honda’s line of compact cars and so this additional benefit of the CRV is greatly appreciated. Aside from that aspect, there are several options to upgrade the wheels and tires to perform in the desired capacities and those upgrades are readily available.

Honda CRV Denver Front-Wheel or All-Wheel Drive
There are three main types of the Honda CRV which have different qualities attached to them. Mainly the various types offer higher levels of comfort or a bit more luxury and functionality upgrades, but overall, each of these have the same type of engine with the same horsepower. Those various trim models begin with the Honda CRV LX which is a four cylinder engine offering 185 horsepower which is not an enormous amount, but it certainly performs many everyday needed tasks and travels. The second trim model is the Ex and the third is called the EX-L. Both of these higher trims are built with the same standards in engine performance and this is strong enough to get up the mountains for ski season. The Honda CRV Denver is fitted with a 5-speed transmission which is automatic and the drivetrain is complete with the standard front-wheel drive. Front-wheel drive is better than rear-wheel drive in terms of stability and performance in the weather, but the great thing about the CRV is that on each of the three trim models all-wheel drive is available! It is suggested for those who are going to be using the vehicle for outdoor traveling should make sure to get all-wheel drive as the performance in various uncertain road conditions is much better.

Honda CRV Denver Wheelbase and Styles
With regards to the size and appearance of the wheels on the Honda CRV, there are essentially two stock selections to choose from. When purchasing a Denver Honda Pre-Owned or new CRV there are some flexible options, but typically the most basic trim model comes standard with a set of 16 inch wheels which are “styled steel”. These styled steel wheels look just fine, however, the next two trims come standard with a greater wheel size at 17 inches and the style is a bit more impressive with the shapely alloy metal wheels. The tires on the CRV are standard all-season tires which are great in poor or good weather and those can be replaced with snow specific tires during the winter. When it comes to the brakes on the Honda CRV Denver, typically the vehicle is equipped with disc brakes on both the front wheels and drum brakes on the rear, except with the higher trim versions which are all disc brakes.

Honda CRV Denver Safety Systems and Braking
One of the most appreciated aspects about the CRV’s electronic functions is the power assisted braking system which integrates the vehicle’s brakes with various mechanical functions. This increases the level of safety mostly and adds some more reactionary capability to changes and unexpected situations on the road. The ABS or anti-lock brake system is much more advanced with the various functions that are attached to that system, such as Electronic Brake Distribution and Vehicle Stability Assist. Both of these features utilize some automatic braking regulation to increase safety to a greater level. Electronic Brake Distribution ensures that all wheels are putting in the same amount of effort to apply the brakes in order that there is not an unevenness or discrepancy between the four wheels. The VSA or vehicle stability assist will utilize a bit of braking power to help correct the driver if there is a loss of traction in some wheels while going around a turn. The system will also slow the engine throttle down if it sense that it will help retain control of the vehicle. Another great thing about the wheels and tires is that all CRVs are equipped with a tire pressure monitor that will alert the driver when tire pressure is off. This vehicle’s safety has been greatly increased due to these factors and more.

There is a car-like interior comfort to the CVR along with a smooth ride and innovative features that is perfect for winter driving or sunny days. All three models come standard with front wheel drive however the all-wheel drive is an optional upgrade. The highly rigid body of the Honda CRV Denver Winter Driving is designed to contribute to the high fuel efficiency and quieter ride that is much more comfortable on dry roads and deep snow. The Honda CRV is getting more fuel efficient as it has an EPA fuel economy rating of 23/31/26 mpg city/highway/combined for the front wheel models and the AWD models average 22/30/25 mpg city/highway/combined. There is also the option of the ECO Assist. The Eco Assist helps the car and driver work together to be more fuel efficient. When the button is first pushed the CRV will immediately configure with the engine to become more efficient. Even the instrument panel lighting changes from the white, which is inefficient, to the green showing that it’s more efficient. This can help to save more on each gallon of gas this winter.

Honda CR-V Denver Exterior and Interior Options
Honda CRV Denver has the remote entry system that is standard in all three models, long with the intermittent rear window wiper/washer, and the heat rejecting green tinted glass. In the Honda CRV Denver EX and EX-L models the one touch power moon roof with the tilt feature, the security system, rear privacy glass, and fog light are available. The Speaker system gradually gets better between the trim levels; the LX has the 160 watt AM/FM/CD audio system with for speakers, the EX has six speakers. The EX-L has the best with the 328 Watt AM/FM/CD audio system with seven speakers and a subwoofer and the XM radio. While the speaker systems between the trims are slightly different, all three come with Pandora capability, Bluetooth steaming audio, USB audio interface and speed sensitive volume control. The EX-L trims add luxury to the Honda CRV with the available Honda satellite-linked Navigation System with voice recognition. There is also the Honda DVD Rear Entertainment system that keeps the backseat travelers entertained (perfect for those long winter trips). Additional interior options for the Honda CRV are the remote start system, the back-up sensors along with the cargo net, cargo organizer and rear seat covers.

Denver Honda CRV Pre-Owned
The Honda CRV made its debut in the late 1990’s with one simple mission: to offer an alternative to the mainstream mid and full size SUV’s. The CRV has a car based design, economical engine with a sedan like ride and handling that became an instant hit. Honda CRV pre-owned models are a great alternative to buying the new 2014 model. The Honda CRV has been around for over two decades and has always offered the all-wheel drive as an option rather than just offering the front wheel. The 2012 Honda CRV is when the appeal to young parents began and the level of tech content was increased. Along with the Bluetooth features becoming available, the Pandora streaming and i-MID display that is attached to the new multi-angle rear view camera system became standard as well. The second generation CRV, which was sold from 2002 on, was a major improvement in almost every way… it was much more comfortable, responsive and refined. These improvements included more power, more interior room and more protection for its passengers. These Honda CRV’s were hooked up to a four speed automatic transmission until 2005 when the five speed automatic transmission or the five speed manual was offered. The EX tends to have some features for the money, including the standard antilock brakes and side air bags whereas the LX didn’t get this upgrade until 2005. The 2007 Pre-Owned Denver Honda CRV was re-designed with more of a passenger focus that the previous generations.  This re-design made the interior feel more like a tall wagon, or to some, the minivan feel. As the re-designs came each year the interior became more advanced and comforting. However the interior has remained essentially the same since the 2010 model was released.

Information about the Honda CRV in Denver

Honda CRV in Denver winter driving | Kuni Honda in Centennial

The Honda CR-V in Denver is one of the top performers in it’s class despite the very stiff competition coming from, seemingly, every other manufacturer that has ever built a vehicle. The reason for this competition is easy to see. The Denver Honda Pre-Owned Honda CR-V is in a class that seems to be the new standard in vehicle ownership. It seems that no matter where you look, you can’t go a block without seeing a veritable sea of crossovers. The reasoning behind why the Honda CR-V is so popular starts with the same reason why all the other crossovers are so very popular. The crossover is not very much more to purchase than a traditional sedan. It still offers a small enough body that it is easy to maneuver and to park, but it does offer you a higher ride height and in turn a higher seating layout which most people enjoy for the better visibility. The crossover, further, typically offers you an all wheel drive option, where the traditional sedan is more hit and miss in this area. The Honda CR-V, of course, offers you all the normal amenities that you would expect from a crossover vehicle, but it continues to build on those amenities to become a top choice in the class. We will examine some of those features below. What we also need to take a look at is whether or not the Honda CR-V is a decent winter performer. After all, the Colorado driver has the snow and the slush to deal with as well as all the typical problems that are encountered on the road.

Honda CR-V in Denver

Honda CRV in Denver a Good Winter Performer
When it come to a good winter performer there are a couple of power and drive train options that can make all the difference. Lets look at the options available to the Honda CR-V and discover if it has the power we need to cope with the snow, and the all wheel drive that can keep us gripping the roads no matter the condition. The Honda CR-V offers us a few options here so pay attention to make sure you research the model right for you. Every 2013 Honda CR-V comes with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 185 horsepower and 163 pound-feet of torque. A five-speed automatic and front-wheel drive are standard, while all-wheel drive is optional. The latter sends power to the front wheels exclusively until slippage is detected, at which point power is sent to the wheels with the most traction. In performance testing, an EX-L with all-wheel drive went from zero to 60 mph in 9.4 seconds — a tad slow for a four-cylinder small crossover SUV. EPA estimates for the front-drive model are an estimated 23 mpg city/31 mpg highway and 26 mpg combined. AWD CR-Vs drop slightly to 22/30/25. These ratings make it one of the most fuel-efficient choices in its segment. The Denver Honda Pre-Owned Honda CR-V certainly has the power and the drivetrain that we need for a harsh Colorado winter. That isn’t all that we have to consider when examining whether or not the Honda CR-V in Denver is a good performer though.

Honda CRV in Denver Advanced Accident Prevention
Winter driving is scary no matter what kind of vehicle you drive. Fortunately for u, the Honda CR-V offers plenty of safety features for when the worst happens. The Honda CR-V in Denver also gives us some amenities to help in further advanced accident prevention. Standard safety equipment on the 2013 Honda CR-V includes antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, active front head restraints, front side airbags and side curtain airbags. All CR-V models also come with a back-up camera. In brake testing, a CR-V EX-L came to a stop from 60 mph in 120 feet — a short distance for a vehicle in this segment. The 2013 CR-V earned a perfect five stars for overall protection in government crash tests, scoring five stars for both frontal- and side-impact protection. In testing by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the CR-V received the best possible rating of “Good” in the frontal-offset, side impact and roof strength tests. We can see that the Honda CR-V is a great choice when it comes to safety. It’s beginning to look like the Honda CR-V is an excellent winter choice.

Honda CRV in Denver a Top Choice
With its wide array of options and amenities the Denver Honda Pre-Owned Honda CR-V is a great choice no matter what the climate. We have seen that the Honda CR-V in Denver offers us the power and the low end torque to manage the snow and slush. We have also seen that the Honda CR-V gives us a full suite of safety features that not only keep you safe in the event of a collision, but the Honda CR-V gives you assistance in preventing those situations in the first place. The Honda CR-V is top choice in Colorado crossovers.

The Honda CR-V in Denver was recently redesigned and remains unchanged for the 2014 model year. This isn’t terribly surprising, as the Honda CR-V is the top selling small crossover for the last several years, it doesn’t need to change a winning formula. The Honda CR-V has been the top seller for a wide variety of reasons. The Honda CR-V offers you a great mix of utility, convenience, fuel efficiency, low cost of ownership, and one of the most reliable drivetrains in the segment. Nothing else in the marketplace even comes close to matching this impressive set of feature sin the Honda CR-V, making it still the best choice for anyone looking for a reliable and stylish vehicle that is big enough to take the whole family out for dinner and still compact enough to park when you get there.

Honda CR-V in Denver

Honda CR-V in Denver

Honda CRV in Denver simple and well designed
The Honda CR-V in Denver is simple and well designed. The ride is easy to handle and offers best in class comfort. Parking is  breeze thanks to the smaller footprint, and visibility is great so you can be sure to see everything that is going on around you, an essential feature, that is often overlooked in modern vehicle design. The rear passenger area of the Honda CR-V offers ample room for adults, and is more than spacious enough for the smaller members of the family. The larger door openings mean that loading those smaller family members is much easier than in competitive models as well. The cargo space offers plenty of room for even the largest of hauls, but if you have some really oversized items you can always make some more room by utilizing the easy to reach straps that are located on the back of the rear seats. These innovative handles allow you to easily flip the rear seats down and extend the cargo area from the back. The cargo space is further accentuated by the use of several storage bins and consoles. The center console in between the two front seats is extra large so you can even place your large valuables, such as a handbag inside when you want to leave it in the car, but don’t want to leave it in plain site.

Honda CR-V in Denver interior materials
The interior materials of the Denver Honda Pre-Owned Honda CR-V may be the weakest point in the design. They do posses a bit more of a plastic feel than some of the synthetics that are offered in competitive models, yet the design is still a great choice overall. The cabin design of the Honda CR-V in Denver isn’t about the materials after all, it is about ease of use and functionality. While the audio controls may be more simple than some other models out there, they do the job that they are supposed to and the quality of the audio system is not determined by the screen that controls it, as you will find out when you tune into the high quality sound system that the Honda CR-V has in even the base model. If you opt for a bit more than the base model you can get the addition of a navigation system that is practical and has some of the best software in the segment. Many models in the crossover category are still using old style systems that are easily surpassed by the navigation on your phone, but the Honda CR-V offers you up to date tech that is sure to help get you where you are going on time. You can further opt in for the rear seat entertainment package. If you have children then I don’t need to tell you what a sanity saver this can be for the longer trips, and often even for the short ones.

Honda CR-V in Denver ample room
The rear end of the Honda CR-V in Denver offers you the convenience of fully spring loaded rear seats which auto fold to a nearly flat position with great ease and allows you to load more than you would expect into the rear cargo area. When you don’t have the rear seats folded down, your passengers will enjoy much more legroom than you would usually expect from such a small sized crossover, and you have ample room for a child seat in the rear facing position. The Honda CR-V offers you much more in terms of space than the outward appearance would suggest. The cargo area with the seats in their normal position allows for 37.2 cubic feet of storage, while the seats down gives you a full 70.9 cubic feet. This is not the norm for a compact crossover and goes to show that the Honda CR-V is more than you would expect in many different categories and should be at the top of you list for a small crossover whether new or Denver Honda Pre-Owned.

The 2014 Honda CR-V in Littleton has been a great success for the already well performing automaker in the U.S. The Denver Honda Pre-Owned Honda CR-V was one of the first vehicles to recognize the need for a smaller SUV style vehicle for those who required the roominess and cargo capacity of an SUV but didn’t need the off road capabilities. The result was a fuel efficient vehicle that could carry plenty of passengers and all of their cargo and still be small enough to fit into a regular parking spot at the mall or the supermarket. This isn’t to mention the stylish SUV type body combined with the handling capabilities of a smaller road designed sedan. It isn’t very difficult to see why the 2014 Honda CR-V in Parker available at your Littleton Honda dealer has remained one of the top choices in the small crossover segment and as far as we can see, if the designs continue to improve as they have across the latest models it will continue to be a top choice for many years to come.

The ease in service of most, if not all, Denver Honda vehicles including the 2014 Honda CR-V in Littleton is largely due to the body design. This body design also adds to the attractiveness of the 2014 Honda CR-V in Littleton by offering some unique styling that has always been ahead of its time in the crossover segment. The 2014 Honda CR-V in Parker available from Kuni Honda was one of the first crossovers to offer a less SUV like appearance and resemble something that looked a little more like the sporty sedan platform that the vehicle was based off of in the first place. Style and utility, what more could today’s driver ask for?

2014 Honda CR-V in Denver, Littleton and Parker Superior Safety
The 2014 Honda CR-V in Denver available at your Littleton Honda dealer body isn’t all about aesthetics though. If you were to strip away the cosmetic surface metal you would find a skeleton of a vehicle that incorporates thousands of different pieces of material. Look a little closer and you discover why there are so many different pieces incorporated into the overall design. Take for example the upper rails of the 2014 Honda CR-V in Denver. These are the pieces that the fenders bolt to. If you look closely at this component you will find some small indentations every few inches. These are there to act as a crumple zone in the event that the Honda CR-V available from Kuni Honda is involved in a front end collision. The purpose being that the impact force is better off being absorbed by the frontal structure of the vehicle than being passed through the passenger compartment. When enough force is applied to these upper rails the crumple zones will allow the structural steel to bend. This bending allows a lot of the force associated with the impact to be absorbed by the upper rail itself and helps keep the passenger compartment of the Honda CR-V available from Kuni Honda intact. This is the kind of superior safety that you have come to expect and should expect from a vehicle like the Honda CR-V available at your Littleton Honda dealer.

The Denver Honda Pre-Owned CR-V started a revolution when it was launched in 1997. This was in the midst of the SUV buying craze just before fuel prices went through the roof. The idea was simple. Lets give the public something that looks like the SUV that everyone seems to be some excited about right now, yet has the safety and the handling of a car. Thus the crossover was born and will forever be the favorite vehicle of the suburban households until time comes to an end. The crossover design really was something to be excited about. With the alternatives being either a very ugly and much maligned minivan or a fuel hungry SUV that was equipped way beyond what the average driver would ever need that Denver Honda Pre-Owned CR-V just made the most sense. Now in its fourth generation the Honda CR-V in Denver has never looked better. It boasts a much more aggressive if not slightly whimsical front end that is sure to please the crowds and turn a few heads on the way. The higher seating position is still a feature that is well thought if and is present on the newest iteration. The most improved aspect of this new generation over the old is the dramatic sweep on the front bumper cover that makes the Honda CR-V look a whole lot more off road ready, but enough about the looks already lets take a look at some of the exterior features that he Honda CR-V has to offer.

Honda CR-V in Denver Smart Tech
One of my favorite features may not fall precisely in the exterior feature category but because it has to do with the noise from the exterior we are going to go ahead and stretch some definitions here. I am of course talking about the Active Noise Cancellation feature of the Honda CR-V. This isn’t just foam and sound deadening materials in the sheet metal of the Honda CR-V, although that is still present. The active noise cancellation works in much the same way that it does in those expensive headphones that are the cherished item of frequent travelers everywhere. The sound system of the Honda CR-V in Denver picks up on the engine and road noise that is making its way into the cabin via a microphone that is specifically placed for this task. Then using a process that I am not even going to attempt to understand or explain here it uses the speakers of the Honda CR-V sound system to produce out of phase sound waves that somehow counter the noise. Like I said, I have absolutely no idea how it works, but I know that it does, and I am very pleased with the driving experience that this smart tech produces.

Honda CR-V in Denver Innovative Safety
The Honda CR-V also features some very innovative safety technology to help keep you safe and sound in your Honda CR-V in Denver. The first of these systems is the Forward Collision Warning. Through the use if a small camera mounted to the top of the windshield for vehicles that don’t have the adaptive cruise control or through the radar for those that do your Honda CR-V can detect the presence of vehicles in front of you. If the system determines that you are at risk in a collision it sounds the alarm, quite literally through audible and visual alerts to get your attention back where it belongs, on the road and on the person you may have a collision with if you don’t do something about it. The second feature that works in much the same way as the Lane Departure Warning using the same camera that is used in the collision warning system the lane departure warning tracks the road lines. If you start to swerve or merge without your turn signals indicating that you intended to do so the Honda CR-V gives you a nice alert in the audio and visual range to once again remind you that you are driving a serious machine that requires your attention.

Honda CR-V in Denver Creative Feature
Finally we get to an often overlooked yet very creative feature that is nevertheless very smart and very handy technology to save you both lots of frustration and lots of money. I am talking about the Honda CR-V in Denver tire pressure monitoring system. This system keeps tabs on the pressure in all of your tires to ensure that you are always maintaining the proper pressures. If you dip below the recommended range than you will receive a warning light in your instrument cluster letting you know that you need to check your tire pressure. Keeping the tires of your Honda CR-V at their proper levels doesn’t just save you the expense of having to replace tires due to uneven wear, but it saves you a whole lot of fuel at the pump as well.

The CR-V was a bit of a risk for Honda. The automaker sought to give consumers a new choice in the long standing struggle between the minivan vs SUV debate. While the minivan offered much of the practicality along with the cargo and passenger capacity that families needed, it was still a minivan. The SUV on the other hand, offered all of the same features, but for many consumers was just not a very economical choice, especially amid the rising fuel prices of the late 90′s. Thus the CR-V was born out of a desire to give the people what they really wanted a vehicle that offered the practicality of a minivan with the styling of a sports utility. The Honda CR-V in Denver cemented it’s place in the hearts of North American buyers by offering very competitive pricing to compliment to passenger and cargo capacity that they needed. The CR-V has remained a top selling model for Honda since 1997 and the latest model shows no reason for that trend to stop any time soon.

Honda CR-V in Denver Late Models
The Honda CR-V in Denver is currently in it’s fourth generation, and while I believe it is the best styled CR-V we have seen, the earlier iterations of the small crossover still offer a lot for Denver Honda Pre-Owned shoppers. The third generation is very well styled and still appears modern enough to look like a “new” vehicle even if it does have a few miles on the odometer. In terms of performance the third gen CR-V offers a 2.4 liter 4 cylinder that produces 180 horsepower for the 2010 – 2011 models and 166 for the remaining years of the generation 2007 – 2009. This is important to know if you are after a bit more performance from your  Denver Honda Pre-Owned CR-V. If you want 180 horsepower, make sure you pick up the later version of this generation. Front wheel drive was standard across all trim levels, but all trim levels were also upgradable to an all wheel drive as well. A 5 speed automatic transmission was standard for every trim level of the third generation CR-V.

Honda CR-V in Denver Engines
As I mentioned earlier the 2013 model of the Honda CR-V in Denver  is one of the best styled small crossovers on the market. I believe it even looks better than some of the “luxury” crossover that carry price tags of double or triple that of the CR-V. This doesn’t mean much for performance though, and in that arena I do have one major complaint. The CR-V doesn’t offer any engine upgrades. No turbo model, no V6, nothing for the performance minded driver. I think this is a major oversight on a vehicle that looks great and is light and nimble enough to really benefit from a small engine improvement. Alas, the 2013 CR-V offers one motor. Not a bad motor mind you, but certainly not a high performance machine. The engine is, once again, a 2.4 liter four cylinder. I guess if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it. The 2.4 does receive a bit of a boost from the previous generation offering 5 more horses and bringing the total up to 185 with 163 pound-feet of torque. This really is a perfectly good powertrain, and it does offer ample power for the small crossover, it just really is a disappointment that the CR-V could really offer some affordable competition to the X5 or the Cayenne and doesn’t.

Honda CR-V in Denver Transmission and Drive Systems
All of the trim levels for the current model also offer only one transmission. A 5 speed automatic is standard across the board. In light of the fact that there is no performance option for the engine, I won’t give my normal tirade on the benefits of a manual transmission, but again, it would be nice to have the option. I do recognize, however, that I am an outlier in this opinion though, so for the average car buyer this lack of transmission options should not be a problem. We do get a bit of choice when it comes to the drive system. All of the Honda CR-V in Denver  trim levels are equipped with a front wheel drive system standard, but all can be upgraded to an all wheel drive system. The all wheel drive is a smart system that powers the front wheels exclusively in normal driving situations. This helps to mitigate the fuel cost increases that are normally associated with an all wheel drive vs a front wheel drive. The all wheel drive system kicks in when it detects any slippage however, and can transfer power to whichever wheel needs it, keeping you and your family safe and on the road where you belong.
